Texecom Premier Elite Wintex 8.2 build 1.5 and remote support
It came to our attention on 07/10/2025 that this version of Wintex requires cloud login details to access an Elite panel using a smart com.
In terms of remote support and what we can or can not do.
If using this version for the latest panels we are restricted as follows:-
1. If you are on Secure I AM installer cloud account no change currently.
2. If on your own Installers Cloud account.
We can remote access your PC or laptop with this version of Wintex installed.
You will need to be connected via the usual details and your cloud account details for us to check your system over.
3. If you are on an installers account and the installer is no longer available.
a. You can connect locally via a usb com lead currently.(you will still need to know the udl password).
To access this you will need to either know the udl passcode or have access to the Engineers code to obtain it.
b. Ask us to arrange a transfer to our cloud account.
Limitations of this are if the original instalation company does not release the panel within two weeks. Most companies release within 48 hours.
If the installation company do not release the panel you may need to seek legal advice to regain control and liase with Texecom.
c. If you require a fix faster, you may need to replace the alarm panel and register the new panel. This is because the panel is assigned to the account and not the smartcom.
4. Wintex is not needed to service your alarm panel but it can help to easily identify programing issues and other issues via its dignostic tools and filterble event log.
We currently have no idea if Texecom are going to introduce charges for accessing wintex via the cloud or to phase out Wintex completly.
Currently to access a Wintex like platform within the installer cloud portal there is an annual charge.
It is hoped that Texecom revise Wintex access as to not impose restrictions by requiring a linked cloud account to use it.
You need to be aware using older versions Wintex may result in discrepencies especially with more modern firmwares. This change is likely to affect version 6.04 panels and above as far as we are currently aware.
